Streeterville, bordered by Michigan Ave., on the west, the River on the south, and Lake Michigan on the east and north, is named for a ship's captain who crashed his ship on a sandbar in Lake Michigan during a storm. He then started collecting discarded materials and built housing along the lake and started charging rent, ostensibly creating the first Streeterville apartment rental arrangements.
Located along the Magnificent Mile, Lake Michigan, and the Chicago River, Streeterville apartment rentals border the Gold Coast and embody all things trendy, upscale, and luxurious in Chicago for it’s young professional inhabitants. Streeterville is also home to Navy Pier, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and several city parks available to inhabitants of Streeterville apartments. Northwestern University's medical and law schools call Streeterville home as does the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.
